Super Junior Hangeng Most Stylish Star in China


Hangeng, a member of the popular idol group Super Junior, has been chosen as the most stylish star in China.

According to Super Junior's management agency, SM Entertainment, Hangeng received the Most Stylish Male Artist Award at the '2007 Entertainment Awards' held in Beijing on March 30. He also announced the recipient of the Best New Artist Award.

Upon receiving the award, Hangeng said he would like to share the honor with his staff members and fans. He also promised to keep up his style for his fans.

During the ceremony, female Chinese artist
Zhang Liyin, a member of SM Entertainment who debuted in China in late Feruary, performed her dance number 'One More Try.' The upbeat number cheers on the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has been getting a favorable response.

The annual ceremony hands out awards to artists and production companies in seven different categories: film, drama, music, fashion, theater, charity and special service. Top Chinese celebrities, including actress Zhao Wei and singer Alan Tam, attended the event.

Samsung Unveils Promotional Music Video Starring Rain

lSamsung Electronics has unveiled the 2008 Beijing Olympics theme song and the music video that will be used for advertising its Anycall mobile phones. Singer and actor Rain, who is one of the hottest celebrities in Asia, stars in the music video.

Samsung Electronics, one of the official sponsors of the 2008 summer Olympic games, launched the music video starring Rain at a recent event announcing the participants of the Olympic Flame relay. The music video is about working hard and achieving one's dreams. Rain conveys the message by dancing throughout the music video.

Rain took active part in choreographing the dance moves for the music video, which boasts blockbuster-level cinematography. In the video, Rain battles it out with talented B-Boys and shows off his sexy charm to the fullest. Rain's physique in the music video reportedly looks very impressive, as he underwent months of hard training to prepare for the shooting of the film 'Ninja Assassin,' a new Hollywood action movie.

Director Jang Jae-hyuk, who made the music video for 'It's Raining,' the title song of Rain's 3rd studio album, took charge once again. Samsung Anycall's promotional music video starring Rain will be played throughout the Olympic Flame relay as well as the summer Olympic games for a total of 97 days. The video will also be edited into a 15-second commercial clip that will go on air nationwide in China and Hong Kong starting in early April.

Once he finishes shooting 'Ninja Assassin,' Rain will visit China in mid-August to take part in events related to the Summer Olympics.

Most wanted: Song Hye-kyo


Korean beauty Song Hye-kyo will soon be the “most wanted” talent in Korea when her contract with Sidus HQ expires on April 11.

The Full House star has not revealed what her next step is, but word has it that many agencies are wooing her.

The same thing happened three years ago. Competition for Song was so stiff that her deposit reached a billion won. When Sidus HQ eventually bagged the coveted contract with the Korean actress, the company’s stock prices skyrocketed.

Since then, the 26-year-old has tried to diversify as an actress by taking on roles in the period flick Hwangjiny and even toplining the indie movie Fetish.

Many are curious about her next career move. While that remains to be seen, the soon-to-be main model for Korean beauty brand LaneĆ­ge will be attending the 2nd Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong on March 17.

Actress Jeon to Launch Line of Blue Jeans


Actress Jeon Ji-hyun has lent her name to a world-famous brand of luxury blue jeans. True Religion is about to release a line of jeans called Gianna by True Religion, created with pan-Asian Korean star Jeon and named for her English name Gianna.

Distributed in some 50 nations including the U.S., Canada, Australia and countries in Europe, True Religion jeans became widely known when actresses like Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz and model Heidi Klum declared them their favorite denims.
The Gianna by True Religion line features 12 kinds of denim jeans designed to fit Korean women's figures and satisfy their sense of fashion.

To many people's surprise, Jeon was reportedly involved in every stage of their production, from design to deciding on fit and wash and their decoration with accessories.

True Religion suggested the Gianna line as it decided Jeon is the Asian star who is most stylish in blue jeans. It will be the company’s first celebrity line.

The line will debut on Friday in Korea, and then be released in 2009 in China, where Jeon has a large following and is known as a model for several companies.

Soo-ae was cast as the Last Empress in the movie .


Soo-ae was cast as the Last Empress in the movie "Like Fireworks, Like Butterflies".

This movie is about the actions of the Last Empress in order to save Chosun and the bodyguard that protects her. Jo Seung-woo will play the bodyguard, who must deal with the anguish of loving someone high in social status.

Through this movie, Soo-ae will be acting in a historical work for the first time in four years, since the KBS drama "Emperor of the Sea".

This movie will go into filming in July.

Super Junior`s Han Kyung to Carry Olympic Torch

SM Entertainment Agency announced that there was an online survey done by Coca-Cola China, a public sponsor of the Beijing Olympics (http://www.icoke.cn), and Han Kyung of Super Junior was voted first place as carrier of the 2008 Olympics torch. After deliberations, the Olympics organizational committee sealed the deal.

"The [Olympics] committee chose Han Kyung because they recognized his part in the cultural exchange of China through his activities in Korea and the rest of Asia," the agency stated. "Han Kyung will be participating in the carrying of the Olympic torch in Beijing from August 6th to the 8th."

Han Kyung will be taking his solemn oath at the "Coca-Cola National Olympic Torch-Bearer Ceremony" as a representative of the Olympic flame on the 24th in China. The ceremony will be broadcast on CCTV-5 and Guangdong TV, the official Chinese channels for the 2008 Olympics.

Han Kyung stated, "I'm extremely pleased and honored to be a torch-bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics."
