Park Shin-hye joins cast of new film "Cyrano Agency"



Korean actress Park Shin-hye has joined the cast of new romantic comedy "Cyrano Agency," according to her agency Ava Entertainment on Thursday.

The movie took its motif from French picture "
Cyrano de Bergerac" helmed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau and starring French actor Gerard Depardieu.

Park will star in the Korean pic alongside opposite Uhm Tae-woong as matchmakers who work at the same agency.


The film will be helmed by director Kim Hyun-suk who is well-known for directing movies "Scout" and "When Romance Meets Destiny." He was also one of the screen writers for "Joint Security Area."


Park made her debut in 1994 and has starred in numerous dramas and movies including "Stairway to Heaven," "Goong S," and "Minamishineyo." She is also a familiar face in television commercials and music videos.

"
Cyrano Agency" is set to begin filming on April 19 and is scheduled for release in September over the Chuseok thanksgiving holidays.

Black Girl’s Generation Climbs to the Top of Music Chart



No more girls next door for Girl’s Generation. They’ve turned into femmes fatales and their new release is just as deadly. The nation’s hottest girl group’s “Run Devil Run” has topped the real-time music chart as soon as it was released Wednesday morning. The song features charismatic lyrics that warn women against bad guys. Teaser videos and photos of Black Girl’s Generation have shown a more powerful and provocative version of the girls, instead of their usual perky and adorable personalities.

Run Devil Run” is threatening to topple 2AM from the top spot on music charts and placed in the upper ranks of smart phone application stores like App Store and Android Market. At midnight Thursday the music video of “Run Devil Run” will be released for the first time on music portal site Bugs and smart phone’s “Girl’s Generation Application.”

TVXQ Member to Star in a Japanese Drama

of TVXQ has decided to star in Japanese drama Because I’m Not Honest.” His co-star is Japanese celebrity Juri Ueno, who also has a huge following here in Korea. She had starred in hot musical drama “Nodame Cantabile” in 2006 as a piano prodigy. Japanese media is showing interest in the upcoming TV series, because this is the first time that such huge stars as Hero Jae-jung and Ueno, each representing Korea and Japan, are collaborating in a TV show. This is also Hero’s debut drama in Japan. TVXQ, known as Tohoshinki in Japan, is a megastar status there. This drama represents a new opportunity for a TVXQ member to expand his career overseas. Hero and two other members of TVXQ have been embroiled in an exhausting lawsuit with their agency SM Entertainment over unfair contracts.

Meanwhile, “
Because I’m Not Honest” will start airing in April. It is scheduled for every Thursday at 10 o’clock. The drama also stars model-turned-actor Eita, Megumi Seki, and Tetsuji Tamayama.

Jang Dong-gun and Go So-young to Marry on May 2

Top Korean stars Jang Dong-gun and Go So-young will tie the knot at the Shilla Hotel on May 2. According to the Silla Hotel, the couple will have a private wedding -- with only family, close friends, and celebrity colleagues invited -- in the Dynasty hall at the Silla Hotel. The couple will most likely set up their home at a villa in Heukseok-dong. Jang will officially announce his wedding date during an upcoming fan meeting which will be held at the Coex auditorium on March 6th. Jang’s agency said, “We can confirm that Jang will announce his wedding schedule at the fan meeting.”



Jang and Go, who were both born in 1972, became a couple in late 2007. Their agencies revealed, “The two became a couple after they had had a good relationship as friends for a long time.” The two revealed that they were a couple when they appeared together at an airport after returning from a Hawaii trip earlier this year. People were guessing that the couple would marry sooner or later because Jang bought a luxurious villa in Heukseok-dong last month.

Jang and Go, who were superstars in the 1990s, first met on the set of the movie “Love Wind, Love Song (1999).”

Meanwhile, Jang will appear the film “My Way” from director Kang Jae-gyu. The film is set at the time of the Normandy Landing in World War II. The movie portrays the life of an Asian man who became a Nazi soldier after he was drafted into the Japanese army.
